These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Umoja Possee Logistics, including removals, waste removal, courier transport, gardening, property clearance, and commercial contracts. By booking or using our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Bookings & Quotes
📌 Estimates
All quotes are estimates based on the information provided by the customer. Final pricing may change depending on:
- Actual load size
- Waste category & tip fees
- Access restrictions
- Labour time required
- Additional items not disclosed
- Multiple trips needed
📸 Photos & Descriptions
Customers must provide accurate descriptions and/or photos. Misrepresentation may result in additional charges or cancellation.
Online instant quotes are guides only. Final pricing is confirmed on arrival.
2. Payments
💳 Payment Methods
- Cash
- Bank transfer
- Card payments (where available)
Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise.
🔐 Deposits
Large removals, commercial work, or long‑distance jobs may require a deposit.
Deposits are non‑refundable unless Umoja cancels the job.
3. Waste Removal Terms
♻ Licensed Waste Carrier
We dispose of waste legally at approved facilities including Gypsum Close Recycling Centre.
💷 Tip Fees
Tip fees vary depending on:
- Waste type (light, mixed, heavy)
- Weight
- Special items (mattresses, fridges, tyres)
❌ Prohibited Waste
- Asbestos
- Hazardous chemicals
- Gas bottles
- Clinical waste
- Fuel or oil containers
- Biohazard materials
4. Removals & Relocation
📦 Customer Responsibilities
- Pack items securely unless packing is booked
- Ensure access is safe and clear
- Inform us of stairs, lifts, parking restrictions
- Be present or have a representative available
🛡 Liability
We are insured for accidental damage caused by our team.
We are not liable for:
- Items packed by the customer
- Pre‑existing damage
- Fragile items not disclosed
- Damage caused by unsafe access
5. Courier & Transport
🚚 Delivery Windows
Delivery times are estimates. Traffic, weather, and unforeseen delays may affect arrival times.
❌ Restricted Items
We do not transport hazardous materials, illegal goods, or perishable food unless agreed.
6. Property Clearance
🏚 Access & Safety
We may refuse work if the property is unsafe, contains hazardous materials, or access is blocked.
📦 Sensitive Clearances
Hoarded or probate properties may require additional labour and time.
7. Cancellations
❗ Customer Cancellations
Jobs cancelled within 24 hours may incur a cancellation fee.
❗ Our Right to Cancel
We may cancel or reschedule if:
- Conditions are unsafe
- Prohibited waste is present
- Access is impossible
- Severe weather affects operations
8. Liability & Insurance
🛡 Coverage
- Public liability insurance
- Goods in transit (where applicable)
⚠ Limits
We are not liable for delays outside our control, poor packing by customers, hidden defects, or unsafe environments.
